Classy 'Light up logo' mouse.

Ok, ok, we've all seen promotional mice before and they're always supposed to entice you away from that tried and tested comfortable friend already on your desk ... but they never actually manage to do so.

So, why this one? Well it's designed to be a companion to your laptop instead of those annoying pad things. This'll leave the PC mouse in it's commanding position on the desk right along with the crumbs and sticky bits!

Or just push the boat out and be the proud owner of two mice and encourage your customers to join you. This one is slim line with a satin finish in a range of colours and, when plugged in with it's reel chord (no batteries and lost wireless connection here!), your logo will light up in sharp contrast through the laser etched window.Cool LED light gives a hi tech precision look to the already elegant finish...and it comes with it's own travel pouch/sleeping bag ;-)

We're selling them for use in a number of promotional usage areas such as a top client corporate gift, as a mailing response item and even as part of the sales team's presentation kit.

Mmmm nice mice...I've got loads if you want some??

New ideas.

It meant an early start for Steve and Fran in their enduring quest for 'what's new', but the lure of some good finds and with a list of briefs to match, the M25 and M40 were no barrier to progress on their way to the NEC!

The Promotional Merchandise Trade Association (PROMOTA) annual exhibition is the last of the three main showcase opportunities for the trade suppliers at this end of the year, so it was a good opportunity to hoover up any ideas and products that we'd missed at the previous shows.

Fashion and social influences are presenting opportunities in new areas of demand...and an example of this is the new pottery 'thermal' mug with it's own silicon reusable lid:

The coffee culture thing is here to stay, so, this mug joins a rich area of promotional possibility from the outset. However, combine this with the purchase discounts that are available if you use your own mug when visiting Starbucks etc, the environmental aspect of not using disposable cups and the practicality of a thermal mug that is pottery (nicer to drink from for me!).We think these benefits give this mug a strong branding opportunity across many user areas.

One specific order example for the pottery thermal mug was to promote and enact the saving of materials : that of wasted coffee that had gone cold, time (in revisiting the coffee machine/bar) and paper cups and lids that are no longer required.

Fran's got one on her desk, but judging by the volume of orders received so far, she's not the only one!

These 'variations on a theme' are never a bad thing when combining proven products with added features or in a different shape. There has also been the revival of some old favourites that, for various reasons, have made a reappearance back in the market.

Product life cycles can predict the revival of some of the staple items, but the recent economic demands and shifts in marketing strategies have seen some creative work in our response to the brief for 'more for less' and, as a result, new light has been shed on some real sleeper items!

More product examples and in-sight from the various shows will follow, but in the meantime we're happy to come and 'show and tell' ... give us a call, it'll take less time than typing it all up here ;-)

We're on the road.

We're 2 months in to 2010 and it's exciting times for us at 'KB'. It's been a case of hitting the road to showcase the new products sourced at the key exhibitions and trade shows that the beginning of each year brings.
And ,despite the weather, we're braving it and putting in the miles to get to you.

Early January saw us at the huge European 'PSI' show in Dusseldorf where we again marvelled at the immense volume of products loosely described as promotional products.
It's a huge industry when viewed on this scale, and no small job to walk the halls, collate and edit what's on offer in order to meet our UK market requirements (and tastes!) and to match our client's specific campaign requirements.

It's not all business and blisters though, there's plenty of opportunity to develop supplier relations over a few local specialities at the end of a long day in the exhibition halls...especially when they're 'buying'!

UK shows have seen us at Asia Expo, the Far East manufacturer's tour that touches down at Olympia for a couple of days, the Coventry Ricoh Arena for one of the major UK promotional supplier trade showcases and, this week, we're off to the 'Promota' (Promotional Merchandise Trade Association) exhibition at the good old NEC.

So, no shortage of new products for your marketing campaign messages...we'll do the legwork and make the recommendations, all you need to do is give us the brief! ;-)

The KB Blog

Welcome to the inside track at KB Design.

We thought we'd join the blogosphere and start our own place where we can carry industry news, product developments and to offer our take on things within the promotional gift market.

We're also going to use this for 'KB' news: the who's who and who's done what etc. So, assuming we do some interesting things that the blog writers find out about, it'll appear right here!

Keep popping back for updates.
